We love Arkansas. Anywhere in that state, a person is close to multiple campgrounds.

Welcome. We'll be fulltiming / living near Hot Springs in late May (Catherine's Landing). Never know, may cross paths and talk trailer.

We spent this past Thanksgiving at Catherine's Landing. NICE place! but it was COLD....22* at night.
We took a day trip up to Petit Jean. Haven't been up there in years. You folks takin' your RV up there have better nerves that I do!
Catherine's is certainly on our list of places we'll stay at again.

We were originally headed to Catherine's Landing way earlier, but between a few commitments in Pine Prairie, and this rediculous winter, decided to wait until May. Weather should be nice by then. We've camped at Petit Jean several times in the past. Quite the hill climb for a motorhome or pulling a fifth wheel huh?

The whole state is gorgeous and nice to stay in except around the rice fields and the skeeters will tear you up. Lived in Carlisle for 10 yrs and the skeeters are ferocious 12 months of the year after dark and not too friendly during the day.

Yes pretty much camped all over the regions in ark. Central ark. Love ark parks, just found a new spot called catherines landing in hot springs ark. Ranks one of the best for amenities.

Funny, I lived in Stuttgart for 20 years I know what you mean. One of the reasons I moved to little rock.

Catherine's Landing is nice but a little too open for my taste. Needs a few years to mature. I like trees and a Lake view. Lake Catherine State Park is one of my favorites. The power plant is an eyesore but the Park is very nice.

We camped at Petit Jean. Loved it, I didn't realize the hill climb was even there until we made that turn off that little bridge.

It really is a nice campground. Once you commit to going up there is no changing your mind!

Try camping along the Buffalo River, by far the most beautifull part of the state.

Campgrounds on the Buffalo with water and electricity? I love the Buffalo but need my modern conveniences.
