Howdy FR Friends & Neighbors!

Once upon a time, I scoffed at anyone who slept in a tent, much less a camper trailer! "Aww, that's for softies!" I'd say. I grew up with the outdoors on my mind. I was a survival trained specialist in the military and a leader of a hard-chargin' scouting group called Royal Rangers (where outdoor camp craft was taught continuously). Yep. I was quite skilled at living and surviving off the land.

Now I'm 50 years old....and there goes the end of a saga. A couple years ago my wife and I bought a Starcraft pop-up. After all, that's almost like camping in a tent, I reasoned. More recently, we "up-graded" and we are new RV'ers with our recent (used) purchase of a 2009 Forest River Wildwood (T31QBSS). It was like new and had been stored indoors. We are excited to get started on our new adventure in RV 'camping'.

Boy, I didn't realize that buying the new travel trailer was just the start of my financial investment! Now we've upgraded to a memory foam mattress with cooling gel (*any survivalist would realize the importance of this!), full camper 'indoor' stocking of cooking utensils, dishes, etc, upgraded sewer supplies, TT tools and extra supplies, stabilizer jacks, stabilizer wheel chocks, electric tongue hitch, and the list goes on and on and on. I have a feeling it always will!

I'm looking forward to reviewing the many threads here on FR Forums. I'm gonna try to follow my dear Mother's advice.... "learn from someone else's mistakes!" I'll be seeing you 'round on the forum.

Another Happy Camper

Welcome to the forum WildwoodT and congrats on your "new to you" rig. The wife and I graduated from tent camping several years ago into a travel trailer, now into a 5th wheel. Hope you enjoy the upgrade as much as we have. Gonna be visiting your beautiful state in June, Mount Magazine State Park. Really looking forward to it!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your 2009 Forest River Wildwood T31QBSS.
Nobody here makes mistakes (that we'll admit to), but we do have numerous 'learning opportunities' that we share to educate others.

Welcome to the world of condos on wheels.
Isn't it funny the older you get the more luxury you require? I "scoff" at a car with roll up windows and no power button trunk latch. Can you imagine getting out of the car in any weather just to open the trunk when you drop your friend off from a shopping trip? I can't!

Welcome Wildwood! I spent my younger years as a backpacker. A 2 person tent was a luxury then. Now in my 60s and sleeping on the ground just doesn't work any more. It's been a lot of fun adding all those mods to our TT. Glad you joined the forum. Congrats on your new "home"!
