Battery life

Hi seasoned RV pros,

Roughly, how long should the battery last for the heat when boondocking? Have a generator onboard but not sure if I can expect to have enough power to fire up the generator in the morning???

Thanks

The furnace fan can easily kill a battery overnight. Lots of threads here on this issue. Most folks add extra batteries.

It really depends on the size of your battery, how cold it is outside and how warm you like your camper to be. I have a pair of 90AH deep cycle batteries which will run my furnace all night.

X2. This really says it all.
Don't expect a single battery to get you through the night if it's cold.
Propane won't last but a couple days either!

If you only have a single battery in your Sandpiper, you need get at least a dual battery setup, if you plan on dry camping or boondocking.

Good advice! I changed to 2 6V batteries and that is barely enough through the night when it's in the low 20s so looking at two more next.

Thanks
