bolt guy

Hi folks! I have been signed up to this forum for a little while and I now would like to introduce my self. My wife and I just bought a new V-Lite 30WFKSS With the Diamond package. We traded our 26fb Colorado that we owned for ten years. We have been camping for over 40 years and have owned 7 different campers from an 8 foot slide in truck camper, Coleman popup, and 5 different travel trailers. We love our new V-lite, my wife really likes the front kitchen. My TV is a 2003 Dodge 1500 4wd with the Hemi that I bought new. It has the 392 gears, and factory tow mirrors. I recently added all new slotted brake rodors, new 3" exhaust system including a free flowing performance cat. and performance muffler, An A&E cold air intake and Air Lift air bags. I use an Equalizer 4 point hitch with 1200lb bars. I realize this is a lot of camper for a half ton but I hope the mods. will help. The Colorado weighed only 200 lbs less and we drove it form Indiana to South Carolina 5 times without the mods. Next week we are going to take the V-Lite there so I'll see how it goes! This is a great forum and I reed it often. Thanks for listening and tell me what you think of my mods to the truck and add suggestions if you want!

Welcome Bolt Guy!

DH and I looked at the V-Lite with the nose kitchen...I was absolutely amazed at how well they fit the kitchen into the V...thought I wanted *that* TT

until....

We walked in to the one right next to it (link below) and saw the bathroom in the V. We'd been plodding around RV lots all day...hot, sweaty, tired....I stepped in to the one we now own, did a walk through and said....OK honey let's go find a salesman...this is the one.

Ours has (IIRC) the Platinum Package. I think, other than the floor plan yours and ours are identical.

We're sittin on ready, rockin on go....gonna launch 'er tomorrow! Short shakedown trip about 40 miles away.

Aren't these things amazing??? Demo tech asked us...."you guys gonna camp in this, or live in it?" We could have answered BOTH!

OK, so I went off on a snoopy happy dance again. Congrats on your new toy!

Welcome...question, have you seen a difference with the slotted rotors?
I've researched the benefits of slots but curious what users think about them.

Happy Camping!

I noticed the slotted rotors kept the brakes a little more solid in the mountains when brakes tend to get hot. Had an emergency stop in a tunnel half way down the mountain and she stopped! Had to throw away those underwear!

Did the same thing when we bought our V-Lite. Knew it was time for a new one been looking, then at the Indianapolis camper show my DW said this is the one! I went out to table the dealer set up and said does any one want to sell us a camper? Just so happens the salesman that was standing there had just started 2 hours before and sold us ours His first sale! (with a little help from the sales manager). Nice young kid said he wouldn't forget us.

I installed EBC Sport rotors and their Yellow Stuff pads on the Escalade I had and would recommend them to anyone. They are a little pricey but well worth it.

Congrat's on the new trailer Bolt guy. Love our V-Lite
