Red face Brand new Owner

Hi! I recently purchased a 2017 Dynamax REV 24rb. This process of learning how to use everything is overwhelming but I’m trying! A few questions?
1. How do you drain the fresh water tank? I tried turning the little handle but I was afraid to pull it. I’m afraid I’ll break it. I want to drain it because my brother/in-law used a regular garden hose to fill it. Doesn’t that mean the water is contaminated?

2. When using the air conditioner, do you need to use the control panel on the wall too?

Thank you for any help!!!

Pics would help but the drain is usually under the coach next to the tank. There would be a drain valve on it. You won't break it. I'm guessing it a white hose. It's a good idea to drain it but Contaminated?? Did you ever in your life drink out of a garden hose??

Don't know what you mean by "the control panel on the wall". Seems to me you just need to turn on the thermostat. But MH are a horse of a different color.

Contaminated is a relative term. Back when I was a kid we drank out of regular garden hoses all the time. With increased knowledge today and health consciousness yes, there are small amounts of chemicals, metals (could be lead) transferred from the rubber/plastic garden hoses to the water flowing through it. What those chemicals could be, depends on the quality and manufacturer of the hose. Today they make drinking water quality hose that most of us use. They are normally white or blue and can be found online or in the RV section of your local WalMart etc. Fill and flush the tank a couple of times and things will be fine. To be extra sure, sanitize the tank and water system by added a few cups of bleach to your tank depending on the size.

I wouldn't be afraid of drinking garden hose water but then I did it as a kid and still do on a rare occasion. That being said, I would drain my tank and fill it with a white hose since I have one and do use it.

Welcome to the forum. There should be a drain valve near the tank. It kay look like a T handle white. Should be able to turn it to drain tank. Enjoy and Later RJD
