Campground directory?
Hi all, we are newbies to the Frogs, but not the RV life. I have a question regarding campground directories. We have not been out on the road since the explosion of smart phone apps. How do you find campgrounds while you are on the road? Back in the day, we had a big Woodall's book as a guide. Is there an app for this now?

We still use Woodall's however Woodall's has now joined with Good Sam's
& yes there's an App for that (I just checked with my iPhone6). There's also Passport America. Half price campgrounds all over the US and Canada
& yes there's an App for them too.

I use RV Park reviews . com, and Woodall's now Good Sam's book to find campgrounds. I do use RV Park review all of the time and if the campground is rated poor I will skip on that one and find a different campground. The reviews are written by fellow campers who have just visited and stayed at that park. So the reviews are up to date.

Welcome.. There are several apps. I use Allstays Camp & RV. About $10 one time buy. One of the best apps out there IMHO.
There is also a free app similar to Allstays called rvparky. Go to rvparky.com.

X2 on the RV Park Reviews web site. We still carry the GS Travel Guide, but more and more we've relied on the RV Park Review. If a campground dosen't rate good or better, we pass and look for another.

I was just wondering about this on our last trip back from Tennessee while trying to find a campground last minute. Ended up just driving the whole way back because Saturday night trying to get a campground to answer a phone.....

X2 on Allstays. I'm a cheapo, so I use their free version. But still has tons of information.

A lot of campgrounds, including COE and state parks put an availability chalk board at the front gate after hours with sites you can occupy after dark then settle up the fees in the morning.
KOA has a good app for the Smart phone and if you are retired military get the UC Military app.

I have the "Big Book", but tend to use Google more than anything. Gives a map view of campgrounds in area and only a touch away for calling.

I use RVParky. It is great and also lists Walmart Cabella on other overnight free spots on a live map as you travel. Reviews, phone numbers and site links are included too.
