Red face Cant't wait to get into our new Rockwood 8288SS Fiver.

Hello Folks, Wife and I are so excited about getting into our new rig. We ordered it locally on 2-22-10. We were told the order interval is 8 weeks. Just wondering if anyone has any info/experience in this matter. Hoping the build time would not take that long as we have already reserved a campsite in late April.
Also about pricing. I was convinced we would be buying from RV Direct as they had great prices being over $1000 under RVW. But doing what Forest River suggested we visited our local dealer and presented him with the RV Direct pricing. After comparing apples to apples we got within $379 of RV Direct's price. I was pleasantly surprised as it was worth the difference to be able to have a relationship with our local dealer.
We plan two or three shakedown trips and then off to the National Parks in the West.
Have a great Day, Dick

Welcome to the Forum! Visit often!

We ordered our Rockwood 8280WS late November 09 and picked it up in Elkhart Feb. 22 (was told that the plant shuts down between Christmas and New Year's). We toured in production facility in Millersberg and were told that they were busier now and that leadtime is now longer. Hate to rain on your parade, but delivery may be longer than 8 weeks particularly if its to be delivered to your local dealer.

Dave

Thanks for the reply.

Dave, appreciate the prompt response. Sounds like eleven weeks. Oh well we still have the happy anticipation. Gives me more time to get caught up around the house so we can disappear.
Have a great day, Dick

Welcome to FRF and Congrats on your new Rockwood. I hope you are on the short side of estimated build time. Don't forget to post pictures of the new rig.
