Checking in from North Central Texas

I've been lurking on this forum for a few days and have gleaned enough information that I drove 60 miles on Saturday to look at what I'd like to have as my next trailer (first 5th wheel) - a Wildcat 295RSX. It took me 4.7 minutes to sell it to my wife! Now if we get a few more ducks in a row, we'll step up a notch or two. I joined the forum on Saturday since I'm so sure we'll soon be in your Forest River family.

Welcome! Looking forward to hearing more about the camper that comes home with you.

We are new to the forum too and on our second forest river camper. The only reason we got the second one was to upgrade to 10 years worth of camper improvements.

This forum has been a very valuable resource for us as we navigated our purchase and we can tell it will help us become better rv-ers over the next several years.

Happy shopping

Thank you for your warm welcome. I'm having a little trouble herding my ducks - can't seem to get 'em in a row!

Wildcat 295RSX

Mr. Dan,

How are you liking the 295RSX? My husband and I just put a down payment on one, and are hopefully picking it up in a few weeks! It will be our very first RV We are both very excited (and a bit nervous about all there is to learn)!

Thanks!
What I don't yet have is a Wildcat eXtralite 295RSX.

I do have a travel trailer. We make one trip per summer to Hickory Creek Park on Lake Lewisville, two per year to Lake Murray (OK) State Park [Elephant Rock Campground], multiple trips per year to West Burns Run on Lake Texoma, 1-2 per year to East Burns Run next door and 1 to either Big Mineral or Cedar Mills on Texoma.

I seldom use a Texas state park... not really fond of how they've done business in the past charging $2 for this and $4 for that - at least that's the way it was. We use the Oklahoma state park at Lake Murray. They don't take reservations YET... but they told us a method for getting a site that has worked about 5 years. We mostly use Corps of Engineers parks like the two on Texoma and the one on Lewisville I mentioned earlier. We get those for 1/2 price 'cause we're old and have Senior Access passes. Full hook-ups at the two Texoma COE parks cost us $12/night and they are large. COE park sites are reservable on recreation.gov which includes a picture of each site. We use a couple of private parks in November after the gummit-run COE parks chicken out and close for the winter.
