Correct storage of matresses in bunk ends

We have been having trouble closing the door on one of our bunk ends when we pack up our shamrock trailer. It has the folding matresses, and it seems that it is really hard to close. I came across this picture of a hybryd trailer with a folded matess, and wondered if this is how it is supposed to look when you fold it up. Because that is not how we have ours. I notice in this picture that the bar is across the inside of the matress fold. We have had our bar under the matress. Also this matress is snapped down, we have never done that. Any feedback, or tricks to closing it easily would be appreciated. I should mention that we have a ushaped dinnette that is against it, which we like to use when we stop for lunch. So the worse the matress buldges, the harder it is to sit at the dinnetee.

yes, this is how they should be folded up.
not sure if the older Shamrock/Roo hybrids have the snaps/straps attachment system. do you have them on yours?
we do our 23SS exactly as pictured. a lot of other Shamrock/Roo owners have the same picture of theirs being the same way also.
can you post a pic of how you do yours? this would help us help you with suggestions, especially since most of us have newer models.

by the way, you should be asking these questions about your hybrid in the Expandable section, not the Welcome Mat section.
this is a Expandable/Hybrid-specific question. the Welcome Mat section is for new members to introduce themselves.

Thanks for the info. We were never shown the right way to store the mattress because the previous owner did not remember. They hardly used the camper. But it does have snaps so we will try this and see if it helps.

We just tried the proper way of folding the mattress. What a difference . . . there was nothing in the owners manual about this, and it illustrates the fact that when you buy something second hand, you may unintentionally abuse it because you do not have the original instructions.
Thanks for helping us with this one . . . camping life just got easier.

glad it worked out. yes, the FR owner's manual is pretty worthless, but i've heard other brands are just as bad.

thanx for getting back to let us know your success. too many people never let forum members know if their suggestions helped or not.
