Depreciation on a 2014 Sunseeker 2700DSF
We are looking at the above cited Sunseeker that has an original MSRP of $89,642 and is on sale at $68,900 on a dealer's lot. I know both numbers are somewhat inflated and we hope to negotiate the price down considerably. My question is this: If we had negotiated this rig as a new RV, we would have hoped to get it at 25% to 30% off the MSRP; how much additional savings should we expect now that it is a year old?
The RV is not used, it has just languished on the lot too long and the dealer is desperate to get it sold.
Would appreciate your guidance.

The '16s are out so its a 2year old unit now. Try the online wholesalers like rvdirect and rvwholesalers for the 2016 price on a 2700 and it should get you talking points vs the value of a 2014. Our 2015 2650sf was $63k fresh off the line with all the bells and whistles. Same size as the 2700 one less slide.

Almost all RV prices have wiggle room, some quite a bit. n-e-d made some valid points to consider.
Good luck and keep us updated on the outcome.

They are going to want to move that unit ASAP!!! but if you show too much interest they will see they have a potential buyer and will hold the price, fine line to walk, too much interest price still up, not enough interest they move to next buyer. Good luck.

Mine was listed at $96k and I still think I overpaid at $65,700. You should be able to get that one for under $60k for how long it has sat there

What model do you have and where did you buy it? Also, what options did you add?

I just looked at rvtrader.com and you can get a brand new 2015 for $66,995. Definitely too much for a 2014

Just bought a 2014 28ft.Sunseeker 2650S the then discounted price was very low 60's which was fine. The dealer took my car as a trade at the amount I wanted, moved the figures around so no down and I got it at the interest rate I wanted. While I do think the price hand some more room for me but that would have affected the trade. I also tried to consider what was most reasonable, no laughing please.
Additionally, they do this several times a day, know exactly how to move something when they want to. For me this was a very good deal all factors considered. We buy a car or RV or a house once every five or ten years. We can play coy, but then someone who likes it more will come buy and opps there it goes. When I buy a big item I usually give my self a major way to get out, in this case it was my trade, some times its the down, others its the interest rate, or options.
I am afraid I tend to be a little on the impulse buyer side, and I will force myself to walk away for at least a day, if its gone, its gone.

2013 Sunseeker 3010DSF . I purchased mine in January 2014. It had sat on the dealer lot for 11 months, It had most all the options, its MSRP $91,345.00 Got it for $63,985.00 out the door. I think if i had pushed a bit more i could have gotten it lower.
