Eastern NC hello...

I have never had a camper before, my father passed away last June and he was an avid camper. Trips to shooting events, hunting trips, boys weekends you name it. He had just traded in a small toy hauler for a 26RR and was transfering all the stuff when he went into the hospital. He never got a chance to use it even one time... so here I am with a camper... when people ask me about it I tell them I like it a lot. I still struggle with, "man you are lucky to have a camper." tough to consider it a blessing or lucky... but anyway... that is how I came to be the owner of an 2015 grey wolf 26RR.

i have used the camper 3 times so far and I am learning many things the hard way. The last trip this past weekend I finally figured out how to get hot water. so last year the two times I took it out we did not have hot water at all because I could not figure it out. I knew nothing about the bypass.

My wife and I took it out the first time together this year just this passed weekend. We went to a KOA, I wanted her first trip to be easy and painless, lucky we did... the faucet was leaking all over the place so I had to replace that... and then I found out the back of the toilet is leaking... ugh... seems campers are as bad as boats lol... but all that said I replaced the cheap plastic faucet with a nice one so that issue is fixed. And I will order the part for the toilet as soon as I remember to write down the model. We plan on taking it back out over Easter weekend... this time a bit more rustic so we will have to use the water tank, but will have power.

i have trolled these threads for about a week or better and just soaked in all in. There is a ton of great information here. And just like I have found at the campgrounds, many folks just want to help and see that everyone has a good time.

I am looking forward to many many trips... thanks for having me

Douglas

Sorry for your loss and yea that would be a tough one to swallow. But continuing on in his tradition with that camper would probably be something he would have wanted you to do and it honors him that you are!
Life is too short so make sure you get out and enjoy it!

from Onslow county and you are right about the similarities between campers and the "Bring On Another Thousands"

Welcome from Wisconsin. Your father will be with you in spirit every trip. Agree about the statement about campers being helpful. If you have an issue while camping most will be glad to help.

I think you dad would be happy that you are using the camper, so my advice to you is make many happy memories with it, because that is what your dad would have done. So like the others said, rest relax and have fun.

Hi Douglas!
Welcome to the forum. I am a bit inland from you... I live on the north side of Fort Bragg. Sorry about your dad, but he left you something to make some great memories with.

I suspect the reason your faucet and toilet were leaking is that they may not have gotten winterized and had some water still trapped in them that froze and cracked them. Glad to hear you got them fixed.

Good luck and check back in with us regularly and let us know how things are going.

Aaron

Welcome from the Charlotte area! Although the circumstance isn't a happy one, I do hope you get to enjoy the camper, and more importantly, your family with this opportunity. Safe travels!

Eastern NC hello...

I have the 2016 26rr. Love it love it love it. If you type 26rr in the search box at top of the different sections it will bring up threads relating to that particular TT. There are a few here. Enjoy your camper and my condolences you you and your family.

We will be at Kerr Lake over Memorial Day. That's in your area. #12 Nutbush.

Hello and welcome from Alamance County. Sorry for your loss. Think of the trailer as a way of having your dad with you during family time.

Thank you for the warm welcome... my wife and I just drove through an area last night to see where we want to camp on Easter weekend so I will book a place at Flanders beach today. And I also ordered the part to fix my toilet... I hope at least it is that simple lol.

thanks again.

I have not been but the lot I have I come out my front door with the lake in front of me. It gets good reviews for a state park. If you do go that weekend look us up. We will be bringing motorcycle down to ride. Always willing to share campfire and the open rode while riding motorcycle.
