Emergency slide out manual closure

I have a newly purchased 2018 Rockwood Mini Lite 2503S. In reading various articles on the operation of this unit and TT in general I see references to manual closure of the slide-out in case of power failure, bad slide-out motor, etc. Yet I cannot find a lug or tab that I can use for a manual crank to retract the slide-out on this model. It is possible that there is a lug for a manual crank under the frame of the TT but this unit is completely sealed underneath with a membrane of some sort. The dealer is no help. I wrote an e-mail to Rockwood and they told me it is in a hole on the frame opposite the slide-out, but there is no hole or button covering a hole anywhere that I can find. Help.

Look under the unit as the lug is is usually under but is accessed through a 1.5"-2.0 inch hole in the skirt near the center door side of the TT.

You are looking for something like this, but on the opposite side of the slide out you need to crank out.

If your unit is same as in video and slide has top and bottom rail outside then you have a Schwintek slide system.

Thanks, I was not sure which slide out mechanism came with the Minis.

Here is a manual and a link to a great thread on them.

I actually share the admirals name and through genealogy have discovered that we are related. But I have to go back a long long way to make the connection. When faced with the draft in the 60’s I enlisted in the AF to avoid and same name ribbing. Back then there were still a lot of people around who had served under Bull

IMO he gets a bad rap for Samar and Typhoon Cobra. He did what he felt was right considering intelligence reports and orders he had. Unfortunately off Samar, MacArthur made inter fleet communication off limits and all communication had to be sent to pearl, decoded and recoded, and sent to the other fleet where it would have to be decoded. The whole process could take 8-9hours to send a message between fleets within radio range.

Typhoon cobra was a tragedy of miscalculations

Did you serve or are you a history buff?

I have a friend who served under Bull on a destroyer. Some of the stories he tells me make what hair I have left stand on end.
