Hello all--I'm Mike, and my gf Lisa and I are picking up a used toy hauler (see sig) from Tennessee in a couple of weeks. We've spent about a year thinking about our needs, finances, visiting RV dealers and shows, researching and buying the truck, then finally sealing a solid deal on this RV. Now that it's just a few weeks away, we're a little intimidated and completely excited. Checklists galore!
I work in sales for a gov't contractor and am a dedicated lifelong on- and off-road motorcyclist who has lived and/or ridden in every state in the lower 48.* Next year, I'll be transitioning to part time, then quitting my job to become an RV tech. By 2017 the plan is for me to have my own mobile RV inspection and repair business. Lisa will continue her job (which she loves) here in the DC area, and come visit and camp as she pleases until she's ready to full time. Then we get the 'next' RV and the world really opens up for us.
Looking forward to learning lots and helping out when possible.
* Except Montana. I always forget about Montana.
