First time campers, Palomino toy hauler
We just bought a Palomino 27SBU toy hauler. Used to ride my touring bike long distances but now we plan to haul the bike to new places then unload it and ride to check out new sites. We were inspired by a trip to Jackson Hole where we were able to rent a bike without having to ride our bike all the way from Louisiana. We toured the Grand Tetons without having to load down a bike and feeling exhausted from the miles. We hope we made the right decision.

Get a big truck. If 3/4 ton will do then get a 1 ton.

Well, if that's the case, we have already made blunder #1. We have a half ton.
Our first and only trip so far was on flat land. We experienced driving rain and wind but the equalizer hitch really helped. But I do dread the thought of going through the moutains for so many reasons.

That's why extra truck is needed for the mountains. Flat land is fine but mountains and long steep climbs are another so watch your tranny temp. A hot tranny won't last long.
