first time rv'er sort of

hello all, again. I'm new at this forum stuff too. Just bought a new toy hauler, so I thought I ought to read into some of these forums to if I could learn some tricks, and I'm amazed. For years, my only tow vehicle was a motorcycle and whatever we could sqeeze into a coleman trailer. I never had to worry about alot of the things I've been reading here. I can see I'm gonna have to start a new list.

Ok, I got two questions right off the bat. 1; Am I gonna need a water pressure regulator for my grey wolf? 2; was at wallmart and seen this 50amp to 30amp plugs, am I gonna need this? I didn't see anything in the owners manual. Thanks.

You should use a regulator, it will prevent damage if you come across a campground that has a higher than normal pressure. I am not familiar with your TT. Is it a 50 amp unit? If so some campgrounds only provide 30 amp service so you would need an adapter.

No, it's a 30amp but I was thinking what if the camp ground only had 50 service? would I need an adaptor?

When you first get a camper, there are a ton of things to buy! There are a lot of things you need, things you should get, and of course hue never ending list of things you want.

Yes, a water regulator is high on the need/should list. Some campgrounds have ridiculously high water pressure rates that can damage your internal plumbing fittings because the fixtures RV manufacturers use are generally low end.

A 50-amp to 30-amp adapter is fairly high on the should have list. You may often find yourself camped at a 30amp site and need to be able to plug in. Even if you generally camp at RV Resort-types of places; you'll find that 50amp isn't always available. Of course, as was mentioned, this assumes that you have a 50amp camper.

Click here for a list of First Trip Essentials to get an idea of some others.

If they have 50 they will have 30. However all campgrounds won't have 50, so you would need to adapt too 30.

Believe it or not, there are a couple of oddball campgrounds that are 50amp only. FRF member youroo has posted about a couple. But, they're rare enough that I wouldn't buy an adapter.

The other time I've seen people get them is for times that the 30amp plug looks worn out or they want to get tricky with their plug-ins at the campground. But again, that's not often. I'd wait until I needed it to buy one.
