Fresh in from Lyons, Oregon

Just Like I did before making previous purchase, joined this to get both advice, read up past the sales people, and feel the waters.

Just retired, re-establishing age old relationship and moving from camping out of my 4x4 and tent to something more comfortable for the both of us.

We have been looking pretty hard for a camp trailer that would both satisfy our needs now, but give us a base to build on as we venture out for longer trips

Started out looking at R-Pods and then decided we might like a bit more room.

There are so many brands out there, and I realize the parent company base has been shrinking, but none the less, lots of different names of brands, and not so many styles.

What really captured us was the Surveyor 200MB the one that is 24' with Murphy bed.

Hope to make the break and buy pretty soon as we are not getting any younger.

It gets confusing about options, sales talk, prices (though not as much an issue) as this will be out first and last purchase of a trailer.

Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated so that when I write the check, I feel a bit more at ease.

Again thanks for the board, and will now start checking it out

Jim, greetings from New Mexico and welcome to the forum. Like us we looked at the r pods and decided on something a little bigger. Another decision for us was to go to dual axle.

Get an electric jack and a flip jack extender. Flip jack saves the need for wood blocks. Its a 6 inch extension that flips up when retracted.

Try out the Murphy bed and ask yourself if you want to fuzz with it twice a day. Plus, the sleep comfort is probably not on par with a regular mattress.

Also, make sure you use a wired drill. My rechargeable just didn't have the juice to make it a quick job. Drilling the pilot hole was quick, but drilling the 1/2 hole took almost 2 hours and a battery.
