From tent to TT in one week

After being a ground pounder in a tent the last 30 years since childhood , my family just purchased our first TT, a 2013, only used once Grey Wolf 28' BHS. Still smells new and nearly 7k below new sticker.

This all came about from a family camp out a week ago. My wife, son, and myself drug out the trusty tent and boxes of camping gear for a weekend at the lake. After a nearly sleepless nite on the unforgiving ground, I went straight to town and purchased 200.00 worth of brand new sleeping backs and pads. The second nite was better, but still left my 36 year old construction working body in knots, my wife faired worse than myself. ( our son finally slept in his own tent, go figure)

That second morning we decided we were ready for a "camper" and started searching. After a week of searching, we stumbled on a 2013 Grey Wolf 28' BHS and within the week we had the deal sealed. Anxious to get out there and start trying out this completely unfamiliar lifestyle.

Wecome to trailer camping and welcome to the forum, I see this is your first post. There are a lot of good people on this forum with lots of experience and willingness to help with great advice so don't be affraid to ask anything no matter how minor it may seem to you. Some TT issues can drive a person up the wall but once explained by someone thats been there it comes together, so ask away someone on here will have or get the answer for you.

Luckily the previous owner was an honest man and was concerned with getting the hitch set up properly for us, not just taking our money and sending us packing. I've pulled poorly set up trailers at work, but this was a new experience with winds gusting at 30 mph broadside . Stayed at 55-60 mph and did fine, tranny stayed at 185 degrees and averaged 15 mpg.

I need to get the topper off the truck to lose a little weight, but I have one last tent adventure into the Ozarks pulling the motorcycle trailer and need the dry storage for gear and supplies. Going to be tough sleeping in a tent when I have a brand new trailer sitting at home, but I'll manage.
