G'day from Australia

Just finishing packing my 5th wheeler (2013 Heritage Glen Lite series - 33ft)for our third trip. It arrived from USA June this year. Fifth wheeler are slowly becoming more popoular and have dropped in price a lot over the last 5 years. Our roads are not as good as yours so the get a good work out. Anyone buying one in Australia I would suggest a fully imported compliant for Australian specs. Less hassle and ready to go.
Enjoy Happy travels

What kind of tow vehicle do you have? I have seen some different looking setups from down under country.

Good morning and welcome to the forums.

Given some of the critters you have there what if any special precautions do you take?

Thanks Crunchman, We have mainly travelled the east coast and stayed at caravan parks along coast. God roads and lots of beaches for the kids. Once I get some photos downloaded I will place on the forum. 4 years ago I spent 9 months travelling and spent 3 months in USA. We hired a 35ft motorhome and absolutely loved it. Travelling in the states is so much cheaper and a lot better set up for RVs. We drove from LA, San fran, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Phoneix, Texas, New Orleans, Quay West, Miami and dropped the motorhome at Orlando. Can't wait to come back for another travel experiance.

G'day Blackrock,
Vehicle used for tow vehicle is a 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 Larmanie.
Limited vehicle avail in Australia. Only American vehicles will suit my 5th wheeler unless I purchase a small truck which doesn't have the same comfort level. There seems to be more and more importers bringing in US vehicles. Even with the Australian dollar strong you will still pay north of $80k for a decent 2009 model.

Hi Ford Idaho,
No real pre-cautions. You grow up with knowing what you can and can't touch. Most animals will leave you alone if they are not agitated. I've travelled a fair bit of Australia and have seen deadly snakes, crocodiles etc and have had no real problems.
