Ok. Yes lots of help here. But where I really got my answers was from Girard's service techs. They are very knowledgable. I don't have their number here in front of me.
They will direct ship parts to you if need be. There is an on and off switch on mine also.
I am not fond of mine but with the tech help and a couple parts mine is working fine now. Just a learning curve.
