Greetings! Another from Georgia!

Just purchased a Flagstaff 831bhds and plan on picking it up the second week of October. This will be our first full size camper graduating from a pop-up. I have a question for all of you long time campers on the forum.....The payload capacity of our new camper shows at around 1500lbs. If I do not fill the holding tanks what else would you travel with to get you close to that capacity? Just trying to understand. Thank you!

Everyone has a different list, You will have to play with what you need and want in the trailer and where you store it in the trailer. Try to keep your tongue weight around 10 percent of your total weight, not all up front or all in the back. I always plan for some water if you are not traveling fully wet, it is nice to have your own restroom. 1500 is a reasonable figure but if you are a cast iron oven fanatic (I am) you may want to keep an eye on your kitchen or move a storage box in front of your rear axle. Don't know your towing capacity or your gross combined capacity but keep it in mind. Its has never been about if I can tow it but rather can I stop it, legally, god forbid the lawyers today will sue for anything and everything.
Camping is the best way to reduce stress so after the planning relax around the campfire and meet people and talk about how they plan and pack. I have learned more over the years from asking these new friends that we have made.
