Greetings from Calgary

I downloaded this wonderful informative tool and many of my questions have all been answered by so many knowledgeable fellow campers!
I guess it's time to post a big hello! In 2010 we purchased our first travel trailer. It was a brand new Dutchman 30 footer. We enjoyed several years of blissful rving.
Then with retirement fast approaching we searched a hundred or so 5th wheels. Given the fact that our truck is only a 3/4 ton, our choices were limited. Legally we are only allowed to pull a 12000 pound unit at max load.
Then we found our beauty, a Rockwood Signature Ultra Light 8289ws 5th wheel.
To discourage us from going state side to make our purchase, a canadian dealer said she would not offer service if needed to us. I had also heard horror stories of how difficult it was to bring it back into Canada. Much to our delight nothing could be further from the truth. Our 2015 unit cost us $35,000.00 American in Logan Utah. Our same unit would have cost us $53,000.00 Canadian. I think we paid $135.00 at the border and then $20.00 to Canadian Tire. Piece of cake!
We left Calgary last year on September 30th. 1 1/2 months on Vancouver Island and then Washington, Oregon, Las Vegas, The Grand Canyon, Buckeye Arizona, Yuma, Oceanside, Redding and now in Kelowna BC.
This is the life for us!
Cheers and happy travels to everyone!
Joy & Ian (formally of Calgary) and now no fixed address!😊
