Greetings from First Time RVer in PA
Good evening all,
Just bought a micro lite 23LB in Ohio Saturday morning and used her for the first time Saturday night at the halfway point on way back home to PA.
The RV dealer winterized it before I picked it up so may just leave her that way till spring. Wife was a little perturbed we had to use campground bathrooms, so maybe I might dewinterize for another month. Read lots of posts on winterizing it and seems fairly simple. Just have to find my water heater bypass... Assuming it has one.
It was in low 40s and rainy last night and we were using a space heater for warmth. My son woke up and edge of his pillow was wet where it was touching corner of RV wall. Thought great, brand new and leaking already. Did some more reading and decided it was probably condensation on inside of wall right in rear corner of the bunk. His head was in back of corner and not much ventilation. Dehumidifier and cracked vent will hopefully solve this issue.
Laundry list of items to buy before next trip. I've typed too long, and just wanted to share my first story.
If your not having fun your doing it wrong,
Dan

Yeah, that sounds like a condensation issue. Welcome from NJ, new too, still waiting for delivery. Just get a cheap portable toilet if you don't want to use your plumbing, I got this one https://www.amazon.com/Reliance-Prod...ortable+toilet for tent camping, wife loves it, said it changed her whole perspective on camping.

Welcome! Where exactly do you live in PA? We are just outside of Reading (Exeter).
Regarding the toilet, you can flush it with a mix of RV antifreeze and water. Just leave the water pump off and have the solution nearby in a bottle. Then just dump black tank.

One day the DW talked about taking a shower in the camp to save me the trouble of the water/sewage tanks.
My reply was, I bought the fiver with a bathroom so you would not have to use strange places. Actually probably me More so.
Blowing out water lines with a compressor and pouring a little antifreeze in traps is not a big deal. We use the dump, station often.

That sounds like a good idea. How well does tank/hose clean out if you don't have anything in the gray tank to run through afterwards?

To clean out the tank, you can get a tank cleanout wand/rinser usually available at Walmart/Amazon/rv dealer. It's nothing but a piece of pipe with holes.
That can also take care of cleaning out the sewer hose.
You might want to pack hand sanitizer or hand wipes too.
Welcome from Texas!

So as first time RV shoppers at the Hershey show recently, the salesman was explaining the black tank/grey tank, and cleanup procedure. Wife looks at me as she very seriously proclaims, "That's going to be YOUR job."

Greetings from Franklin, PA, about 60 miles north on PA8. Bought my TT in Ohio, too. Saved a lot of $$. It was a PITA getting the original title PA required for titling and registration, I went through a lender via the dealer, big probs with them with the title. Thankfully, my Notary knew his stuff and was tenacious for me.

That is no fun boomerweps. Hoping the dealer I bought from knows how to handle the paperwork. I am not a fan of state agencies that govern titling and registration. I should know in about a month I suppose. The Ohio dealer was cheapest I could find nationwide. Something has gotta be easy

Welcome to the best hobby in the world. First timers pay close attention to the outside shower if so equipped as they often overlooked during winter weather..... Did I mentioned I replaced my outside shower?

We bought our Hemisphere in NY. Just took the manufactures statement of origin from the dealer and went directly to a notary in Erie. No problems. You should be fine.
