Greetings from Fort Stewart, GA

I have been a tent camper for the past 17 years (since meeting my wife) but she recently talked me into upgrading to a Travel Trailer. We landed on a 2014 Salem 26TBUD thats in great shape! It also has enough space for our four kids!

We have taken her out once for Memorial Day weekend so far but have a long cross country move coming up as we move to Fort Irwin, Ca... may be living out of the trailer for about a month while we find more stability.

Currently hauling with my '06 Jeep Commander 5.7L Hemi 4x4 and weight distribution system hitch. I love my Jeep but am considering upsizing to a Tahoe EXT, Navigator, or similar. On paper, I am within specs (and am still ablolutely in live with my Jeep), but the load doesn't handle so well over 65mph, small 18gal gas tank (running 6.5mpg hooked up), and the prospect of traveling cross-country with a family of 6 may all put me over the edge though, lol.

I am excited to start this adventure!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your 2014 Salem. You mentioned not handling well over 65 be aware that your trailer tires maybe rated for only 65. If the tires have not been changed you maybe riding on China bombs. Do a search here on this topic. Enjoy Later RJD

@aceinspp- I will definitely take a look at that! Thanks for the callout- tires are in great shape... but I have not looked for a speed rating.
