Smile Greetings from Iowa

Hello, so very happy to have found this site for Forest River owners. My name is Donna from Iowa, my husbands name is Bob. We are first time owners and are so green at owning a Motorhome. We've had a rough start but hopefully things will work out now. We have had our Motorhome since 2014, it is a Georgetown 360 XL. It is a 2014-15, have only had it out 5 times since we kept having problems. We took it to Elkhart, IN since our Dealer here in Iowa (Des Moines RV) couldn't seem to fix anything or didn't want to. That is behind us now and we are looking forward to a summer of new adventures.

We do have a couple of questions, #1 How do we make sure the water is shut off to the ice maker in the Ref??? #2 We thought we could pull our Escape behind our coach, got a Blue Ox and it seems that we can't pull that at all. So, what do kind of auto do you tow behind your coach? Suggestions please.

I have retired and my husband is still working, don't know for sure when he plans to do so. He just turned 71 and I am 67, we have 3 grown sons and 5 grandchildren and one Great grandchild.
I worked for the public schools for 17 years in before and after childcare, then went to school and learned to be an animal groomer. What an experience that was, I loved it so much. But had to finally retire because of arthritis in my hands. My husband works at United Way. We have three children at home, Yorkies, 3 of them, 1 little 5 lb., 8 year old female named Willow and two boys Willie Bill , 12 years old and 12 lbs. and our newly Rescue baby Walley. He weighs in at 8 lbs and is 6 years old. Love them all very much. We are firm believers in adopting little fur kids. So many out there that need a Forever Home,

Look forward to hearing from you and again, it is our pleasure!!

Welcome Neighbor...we are just West of you.

On my first camping trip with my wife... we had a pop up. we stopped at a KOA, got in after hours set up in the dark and were going to be on our way to Branson. We got up early. nothing went right. It was our first crack at sleeping in it. After I folded it up, the little black nut fell off the back of the latch and got lost in the grass. I spent a good five minute on my hands and knees in the dark looking for it. Finally she got angry enough to get out of the car (we were both very frustrated) and find out what was taking so long. I explained in to her. Without missing a beat she picked it up off the ground and said is this it? We both laughed it off and drove to Branson. So glad we got past that!

Welcome from California! I am Gary & my wife is Trudy. We used to own a 32' Georgetown & towed a Honda CRV. We have since bought a Fifth wheel Rockwood & love it. I like having a pickup to use when we aren't camping. Welcome aboard!
