Greetings From Maryland

Hello all!
Sure glad I stumbled across this forum! I've been poking around here for a week or so, and have learned so much already.
I'm the kind of guy who likes to do as much of his own maintenance and repairs as possible. After all, fuel and campground fees are better ways to spend my money than paying someone else to do my maintenance, right?
This forum is such a valuable resource with so many other like minded folks sharing experience and knowledge. I feel like I hit the jackpot! Now I just need to figure out how to work this forum a bit better.

Welcome from SoCal.

The more you explore the site the easier it becomes. Just like with more computer programs there can be more than one way to do tasks. Here's a link for forums 101 posting basics.

Happy Camping!

Wow! Already a few folks posting that are near, or used to be. Do y'all have any favorite campgrounds nearby? So far our favorite weekend get-aways are Elk Neck State park (almost in DE) and Gettysburg Campground (just a little over the PA line).

So maybe we will see you around then. we go all over from New York finger lakes to Virginia. have not gone to elk neck yet but it is on our to do list. we like Cunningham falls and when we go to Gettysburg we do the state park at Caladonia. We also like Chincoteague island. If you should see a Rockwood highwall popup with a sign "ESCAPE" and a picture of Dory the fish from the movies Finding Nemo, stop by and say hello.

Will do Galsof!
If you are serious about Elk Neck, they are the only state park in MD that has a loop with full hook-ups that I'm aware of. Gettysburg Campground is private, but they have several full hook-up sites that back up to the stream. Love the sound of the babbling stream beside our rig while relaxing around the campfire. Great watching the kids netting crayfish and small fish too.

I probably shouldn't let this secret out..... there are ONLY 3 electric sites in Swallow Falls SP in Garrett Co that have full hook-ups. As far as I know, those are the only 3 sites in a state park in Allegany and Garrett Counties with full hook-ups.
There is another loop in Swallow Falls that has water and electric only on a couple of sites.
Beautiful park and the scenery at the Falls is great.
