Greetings from the Lone Star State
New to the wonderful world of TT'ing (although tent camped extensively as a youngster. I have spent several hours on this forum and you guys are a GREAT bunch! And lots of GREAT info.
Picking up our new Rockwood 8315SS this Saturday...what an awesome floorplan. Most of the time just us, occasionally we'll have our grown kids with (2 plus girlfirend). We shopped a lot (too much) and settled on this one as it had everything (OK almost everything) we wanted and think we got a good deal. The second choice would have been a Jayco Feather 25F but felt like we were compromising, and the price was almost the same.
Plan on spending a bunch more time reading through all the threads before I start asking a bunch of dumb redundant questions (I'm sure that will happen anyway). Our first excursion will be a short trip to Port Aransas at the Gulf end of this month.

We're in Cedar Park ('burb of Austin)
Port A back in the 80's was a great place, it's pretty commecialized now, but still a nice place to go (and the closest)!

I know Cedar Park fairly well. I'm originally from NewBraunfels just down the road a bit.

I like Mustang Island State Park in Corpus (just south of port A) for our coast trips.

San Antonio boy originally. Mustang Island is a nice place, we're trying Pioneer closer to Port A this time.
My sister lived in Denton several years back, I'm sure it's grown quite a bit since, but it sure had a small town atmosphere (a good thing). She's in Palestine now, and we want to make a trip to the Piney Woods when it cools off some.
Where do you visit...I know there's lots to see up there and I know you have many beautiful lakes close by.
And it is a whole nuther country (or was a few years back)

One of my favorite State Parks up here is Fort Richardson in Jacksboro. It's an old Army Frontier Outpost. Really purty with nice park facilities and the old post is partially restored.

Absolutely a word, and too true, the area has grown beyond belief.
Fort Richardson looks cool, I hit the TPWD website and checked it out. The pictures reminded me a little of Fort Davis out west. I'll put it on my someday maybe list.

We did Pioneer RV Resort last year just SW of Port A. We loved it, but the owners said that their lease was probably not going to be renewed.
