hard to wait

Sure is tough waiting on the new 5r to show up. Been 8 weeks, dealer says probably this week and then probably pick it up on the weekend. Guess it wasn't very good weather between Penn. and Calif. He did say it could take 10 weeks, so its ahead of schedule, just anxious I guess. Hitch, mirrors and electrics are on the truck and I've got my PDI so I'm ready for it. Guess the maiden voyage will be a three day trip to the George Strait concert in San Jose. Probably be one of those where we throw all the stuff in the rv and organize it when we get there.

Hi there and welcome to the forum! Sorry I didn't see your message sooner. Waiting can be tough to do especially with our no so bad weather here in Californian. Did you say that you already had a PDI or would you referring to a printed checklist? The reason I am asking is that a PDI is a good time to check your unit out completely from head to toe while learning the ropes.

Actually signed the papers yesterday and are picking it up Saturday then off to the local KOA for a shakedown. I printed the Forest River PDI checklist and plan on going through the whole thing when we pick it up. So far everything is working out as planned and the 5er looks really outstanding.

Finally my wait is over, picked up the new 5er Saturday. Everything is perfect in it and we'll give it the shakedown this weekend. First 5er I've towed, so I'm learning it turns a little quicker than a TT. Now I can't wait to use it, having a good time now just loading it and making it our own.

MooMooMeow, I forgot to mention that there is a group of FRF members meeting at the Petaluma KOA. April 20-26. You can get the information by looking at the California rally thread. Plenty of spaces available at this time.

Well have been out twice now in the new 5th wheel and pretty much everything is really nice with it. Couple little problems, nothing the dealer can't task care of. Have made some mods to it already, like wiring all the TVs to play off the DVD & wireless player I installed. (don't know why the factory doesn't wire them when being built) It tows really nice and sets up quickly when we get there. All in All just what we were hoping for when we bought it.
Also just signed up for the California rally in April, looking forward to meeting some other Forest River folks.

Thanks........mater of fact we will see you at the rally, made the reservation today and am so looking forward to it. Man, the rally place is filling up fast now. Anyone wanting to go better make there's soon.

Yea, it held at like 8-9 reservations until posted on the F.R.O.G. web site and then "KABOOM". Now were at around 24.

Glad you were able to make things work out so you could attend.
