Hello

Wow, what a great Forum. You have it all. Thanks for the kind Welcome. Cheryl and I are looking to buy a Forest River Trailer in advance of our retirement. We've had a truck camper, we loved, then went to a 5th wheel, not so much. Now we want to go with a small trailer as we down size from a one ton truck to a half ton. LOL The 226RBDS Surveyor is very appealing in price and size for the two of us. Thinking it will be our safe haven when visiting family and old friends. If ya know what I mean

We have lived and worked the majority of our lives in Alaska...places like Fairbanks, Kodiak, Cordova, Healy, Ninilchick, and even Anchorage.

Our jobs/careers have fortunately provided opportunity to see pretty much all of Alaska from the Beaufort Sea to Sitka. We are currently working remote sites above the Arctic Circle. And now crave lots of warm sunshine and a desire to see the lower 48.

By joining your great forum we are hoping to skip over common misconceptions and pitfalls.

See ya down the road.
Jim & Cheryl

Welcome from West Virginia. We love our little trailer and find that it suits two of us very well.

Welcome to the forum. I'd be a little concerned with using the 1/2 ton as the tt can end up weighing 7600 # loaded. Plus you have to figure in what you will load in to the PU. I's stick with a 2500 to be on the safe side. Enjoy your new adventure Later RJD
