Hello Ferrel and welcome to the forum and congratulations on the purchase of the Thunderbolt. I know where Foxworth, MS is located. We used to attend the bluegrass concerts in Columbia, MS when they held them at the Columbia Exposition Center every March and October. We would park the campers at the Mimosa Landing Campground. When we would go to those singings, we would eat at a catfish house which I think was located at Foxworth – seems like the restaurant is located on that road that goes to Bogalusa. My brother-in-law loved that bluegrass music and we would all hitch the campers up and go. He passed away in 2012 which I think was the same year they stopped having the singings.

We were not too very far from your neck of the woods yesterday. We went to Paul B. Johnson State Park to check it out as we had never been there before. We are from Livingston Parish, LA, but do most of our camping in Mississippi and usually stay at the state parks. Paul B. Johnson is a nice park, but it is little far for weekend warriors like us – we’ll have to stay at it during an extended weekend.

We usually camp at Percy Quin (McComb) and Lake Lincoln (Wesson). Our favorite Louisiana park is Bogue Chitto (Franklinton, LA).

Matt
I know exactly where you are. Yea, when you were at the Bluegrass festival you were 6 miles from my house. The catfish house I think is Caine's? We do a lot of camping at Lake Lincoln my children loves it there for the jet skies. We have camped at Paul B a few times, usually when we pull that way we go on down to Flynt Creek. We just purchased the XLR a month ago, before this we had a toy hauler and traded it for a Ekridge bunkhouse that we found out later was a bad mistake. We could not get Heartland to stand behind their product and everytime we camped something broke and it would turn into a bad experience so we decided to trade it before the family lost interest in camping. Which to us is the best quality family time anyone can experience. I guess we are blessed because our childeren are 24 and 20 and both love camping. OK safe camping.
