Hello everyone. Super Excited for our new Shamrock 233S
So after 12 years camping in our 1997 Palomino Colt pop up, we decided it was time to upgrade. It wasn’t that long ago that we had all three kids sleeping on one wing together (asking my 14 year old to share a bed with her sister now could result in serious injury) and we’ve simply outgrown it. After doing as much research as we could stand (if you want the world's most intense 2015/2016 Hybrid comparison spreadsheet shoot me a message) we finally pulled the trigger on a 2016 Flagstaff Shamrock on Thursday. We’ll be headed down to Keystone RV center on Wednesday to pick up the new unit.
My first question is this; What are we not considering? I’m sure there was something you wish someone had told you before you made the upgrade from the popup or bought your first new unit.
We did negotiate a Blue Ox SwayPro with install into the deal. I have a new Prodigy P3 brake controller coming from Amazon. I’ve read a ton about this controller, and while most of the function is well beyond what we’ll need, the multiple driver setting was the deciding factor, as my wife will be towing the rig at some point to meet me.
It’s been a busy few days, and that’s the reason I’m asking for your help. Let me know what you think.

Welcome to the forum. Congrats on your new camper. Not familiar to the camper but looks to have the room you need. Enjoy Later RJD

Welcome from Wisconsin and congrats on your 2016 Shamrock 233S. Print off a PDI checklist from the Library tab above and take it with you. Have them show you how to winterize/dewinterize as it's different from a popup.

There's a PDI for Hybrids sticky, in the Hybrids/Expandable section here.
Start with the #1 hybrid mod, a set of Popup Gizmos or you can make your own from the 5x7 generic solar/sportsman blankets.
Helps control tent end temps and condensation, keeps canvas clean, darkens the tent ends for afternoon naps and late risers.

You don't say what you're pulling it with. Going from a pup to a hybrid means you're now going to be pulling a very large sail down the road. In addition to the weight increase, you're now going to be introducing a lot of drag. I thought my Traverse (5200 lb tow capacity) would be fine for our Roo, but turned out I wasn't happy. I ended up buying a Silverado.

Sorry about that. Not sure why my signature isn't coming through.
We picked up a new tow vehicle. A Ford Expedition EL. Had to get rid of the minivan....a real sacrifice for me.

You may also want to look at some memory foam for on top of the mattress's. That made a huge difference for me in our old hybrid.
