Smile Hello from Alabama

I'm new to this camping experience and have really enjoyed it for the past 3 years. My father passed away 3 years ago and left my mother alone, so we bought a used camper (1998) which was a complete nightmare. Finally, after I had replaced everything in it, we sold it and bought a 2015 Wildwood X lite and have loved it. I need help though, my battery keeps dying when I have it parked at the house. As long as the camper is plugged into an outlet, it is fine, but when it's not, it dies. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I have checked to make sure everything is off inside, and it is, but still, the battery dies. Please help if you have any suggestions. By the way, my mother really loves camping now.

Welcome!

You have several things in your RV that will drain your battery. The best solution is to put a cutoff at or near your battery to avoid the parasitic draw.

Some examples of items that will draw power are your CO and propane detector, refrigerator and TV or radio.

Welcome to the forum. Over time the CO detector will drain the battery as one can not turn off. Either plug trailer in at home every so often or add a cut off switch. Later RJD

Be sure your antenna booster is off.

I installed a switch that would cut DC power to the radio. Helped a lot.
