Hello and welcome from Arkansas. Jealous of your scenery but not the cold.

Thank you. I spent 3 years in Phoenix going to school in the early 80's and did alot of camping in Flagstaff and Sedona. It was so nice there I almost didn't go home. But someday I will go back.

Thank you. Where abouts in Arkansas? My sister in law and father in law live there. In response to the cold....it has been getting warmer every year for the past 6 years. We had hardly any snow this winter and yesterday it was 71 degrees in the shade.

Hello fninja, I came from Fairbanks to Moses Lake WA in 2008. It has been great being able to check out the parks down here in the lower 48. You will love it someday when you get the chance.

Southwest Arkansas(Texarkana)

I watch Mountain Men... Marty and Morgan catch heck up there. Get stranded there and you die. I had an opportunity to work for Genuine Parts(NAPA) in Alaska one time and never went. They said turnover was like 400% when the freeze/thaw came. People had cabin fever.

Welcome from Pennsylvania. My dad, wife and I spent several weeks in a RV in your wonderful state in 1997. My dad was 85 at the time. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. Since I am now retired, my wife and I expect to revisit you in the next couple of years.

Our oldest son, Mardy, was up in Anchorage for 7 yrs with the Air Force, retired, came to NC in 2003 and just went back to work for Shell Oil in 2014 and is coming back in Oct. I've been up there 3 or 4 times both in the winter, summer and last Labor Day. Scenery is absolutely breathtaking. I think I could live there, but TOWTA says "Absolutely NOT". Went 'snow machining' one winter and it is unbelievable. The lower 48 has nothing even close as far as snow machining or scenery.

Welcome to the forum from Missouri! We lived in Anchorage in the 90s and did a lot of camping with the 32' travel trailer we towed up. Miss the salmon fishing! There are many beautiful areas in the lower 48 to explore and if you are here during the winter, the northern tier states have some of the best snowmobiling areas!

I must admit there's not allot to do in the winter unless your into snow sports (hockey, ice fishing. smowmaching. etc.) I sure miss snowmaching though. Haven't been in 3 years due to lack of snow.

Hello Pennsylvania. My wife's grandma had a cabin there and someday she wants to go back and see it. Her uncle is in charge of it now. Not sure exactly where it is although she really raves about it.
