Hello From Alberta Canada

Hello Everybody !!

My DH and I have been RV'n for a while but still "newbies". We had a bought a new 26' RKS Outback TT in 2007
Went out with it maybe 1/2 dozen times. Really do enjoy going out so upgraded to a 33LCDTS Silver back 2006. We bought it the end of August brought it straight home and parked it. Never got to take it out camping.
We are VERY anxious to get out again. Also very nervous as this unit is HUGE compared to what we had.
I do have lots of fears but I have heard told "never let fear stop ya"

We have no idea at all on how to haul a 5er. This is going to be an adventure to say the least

I'm sure I will be here quite often looking for reassurance and advice

Nice to meet ya !!

Regards
Jo

Hey Stuff,
Thanx so much for the vote of confidence from Sask. Great to hear from you. Wow, I see you have done a lot of traveling That's awesome.
What kind of rig do you have ?? Are you full timers??
I am worried our truck may not be sufficient to tow this trailer Even after research we aren't sure. I think maybe wishful thinking that we could tow this trailer. We fell in love with it and had just bought the truck so couldn't get rid of it . I hope we will be okay.
Thanx again for replying to me

Jo

to get my current rig home i used my fathers 06 superduty. crew cab long box 4x4 with the 5.4 gas in it. talk about slow painful death to the wallet! lol. My rig in the future will be my 90 E-350 bus. has the 7.3l diesel and tow packages etc. Also the superduty long box was technically not long enough of a truck to pull it because of the length of the trailer!!

First welcome to the forums from a fellow flatlander. That seems like a pretty nice unit but think you are pretty close to overloading your Dodge assuming it is a 2500 4x4 (seems like everyone on the praries has to have a 4x4) and the specs are the same on your trailer as the FR website. You should really get to a scale and check everything out to make sure you are withing the limits of your TV as the 2500 has a payload from 2330 to 2500 and a max trailer weight 12,600 to 12,750 and a gross combined weight of 20k max. Enjoy the new trailer and safe camping.

BTW we have an 08 Laramie Megacab 2500 4x4 hemi and a 34 ft V-Lite travel trailer.

Welcome to the forums!! Can't help you with info on towing a 5th wheel but have a good background with camping and motorhomes.

Welcome from Ontario. Can't help much with your specs as we tow a v-cross superlite tt but I'm sure you will get lots of suggestions here. Just take your time and don't take chances. There is seldom a prize for being there first. Have fun and enjoy yourselves. Old Guys
