Hello from California

Hi all just join the group and wanted to intro ourselves. I am Dan and my wife is Missy and we recently purchased a Rockwood 8280 fifth wheel to tow with our 2011Chev 1500. Did a lot of research and found this was the best 5th wheel for our truck (pin weight, trailer weight ). I know we are close to our max towing (1100lbs to spare). I have weight the trailer and truck to get this figure. I am looking to install a K&N air filter kit (use to be called a FIPK) maybe a larger cat back exhaust and maybe changing the trans fluid to a synthetic like Amsoil. We are not planning long trips just short ones to the beach area.
I would like to know your thoughts…. We have what we have and have to make do…
Thanks, Dan

to the forums and congrats on your Rockwood 5th wheel! You had say something about beach trips - any ideas where you might be heading to? I often end up at San Clemente SB because of full hookups but we have several good beach campgrounds here in Southern Ca to select from.

That's all we do anymore. It's hot here in the valley and we head for Pismo Coast Village as often as possible. Enjoy your rig. All the best.
