Hello from Chris with a 2014 Rockwood 2304s

Greetings all,

After spending the last 17 years in a very nice Coleman pop-up, the missus and I found a lightly used 2014 Rockwood 2304s and put the deposit on it.

U-shaped slide-out and murphy bed were our requirements. It came with an add-a-room, a load-compensating anti-sway hitch, a diamond-brite pickup truck-style tool box and a little customized canvas-work.

at $19K inclusive of the extras, it wasn't exactly a steal, but it checked all of our boxes and still smells new.

We use internet forums to solve problems and share experiences, but as it's still frozen in Michigan and I still have some years before may not hear much from us until springtime.

Thanks to those who moderate and keep the forums going. They are a tremendous resource for those seeking information.

Hi Chris,
Congratulations! The add-a-room sounds like a nice option for mosquito's. My wife and I are negotiating on 2012 2304s this week. If it works out, Maybe we'll see you at Porcupine Mtn. this summer!

The dealer wants $14,000 for it - it is really clean, but has low options, no grill or ladder sadly. What do plan to tow it with? They are about 1000 lbs heavier than a 2014 2304 (no slide), which I can get new for the same price.

We went about $4,000 over budget on what we bought.

Wanna laugh? we've got NOTHING capable of pulling this thing.

The previous owner agreed to pull it to the storage area of our choice, giving us about 4 or 5 month to save for the purchase of a towing vehicle.

Leaning towards a Ford F150 or 250 (depending upon what I can find used). I will keep my eyes open for a diesel something, as I currently drive a diesel Passat and have come to adore the diesel engine.

Added a couple of pics of the add-a-room. I'm told it took about 20 minutes to set up and the same to take down. We will probably skip it on a weekend trip or if the weather is favorable. Would be nice on a rainy day though.

That looks great, that add a room is too cool! You got a ladder too, nice option. I found a new 2015 last night that is over our budget but almost too good a deal compared to the 2012 and 2013 we are looking at - the 2015 is the only one with a ladder.
