Hello from Colorado!

Greetings All!

Our names are Jeremy and Denise and we live in Colorado in the North Metro Denver area. We have three children, 15, 13, and 11. We are long time tent campers and love the outdoors and travel whenever possible. We have been members of the forum for awhile now, in preparation for our first class A purchase. Thanks to hours and hours of research to include reading all the invaluable advice and experiences on this forum, and multiple visits, test drives, and shopping, we finally decided on the first rig for our family.

We are happy to report that we took delivery of our 2017 Coachmen Mirada 35BH "Large Marge" on the 13th. After searching nationwide, we chose MHS in Alvarado as our dealer. The experience was painless, everything was pre-arranged, and went very smoothly. After a lengthy PDI, MHS took care of our list that night and we were very pleased with our experience. We were pleasantly surprised as to the condition and quality of the unit and the response to our checklist, which based on reading some of the horror stories here, was relatively minor.

We took a nice 7 day "shake down" trip around Texas, visiting Dallas, San Antonio, and Amarillo before heading home. We expected to make a trip back to Alvarado on the way home and allotted several days to allow for them to address whatever new issues arose, but fortunately all went well and there was no need. It was nice having an extra 3 days to play with!

We are looking forward to continuing our travels, albeit now in much more style and comfort.

Thanks to everyone's generosity and willingness to share information in this forum for us first timers! Every question I had was answered somewhere in Forum-land without ever having to post. We're stoked to have joined the RV community!

JJ and Denise

Hello and welcome from northern Arizona! And congrats on the new rig! Our next spring week vacation will be in the Mancos/Cortez area again; we love southwest Colorado. After we both retire we intend to finally wander all over Colorado. Happy Camping!!

Welcome and congrats on the new purchase!

If you and your family decide to try boondock (dry) camping, give us a holler as we pride ourselves for never using a pay campground in the past 7 years. We are dedicated dry campers right down to our solar system (not necessary) and extra water!

How was towing to San Antonio? We have a family reunion next month and will be parking my Wildcat in front of my father-in-law's home. Any problem areas with traffic and roads along the way?

Not sure what route you plan on but you may want to read this thread.

Amarillo to Carlsbad Caverns NM

We were there in June this year, stayed at Blazing Star Luxury RV Resort on loop road/1604 off I-10.

Traffic was fair I guess when compared to say Portland, OR.

Finding the Alamo was easy for this desert rat...
