Hello from Colorado

We are proud new owners of a 2014 Cherokee Wolf Pack 21WP!

We are looking forward to getting out and meeting fellow RVers and just enjoying the outdoors. This is our first RV but did grow up around many of them, so we are not totally clueless. Although I do feel like it because we can't for the life of us figure out what a switch above our control panel turns on. It comes on with a blue light but doesn't seem to turn anything on and doesn't make any noise.

Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome! A picture would help immensely to see if someone can help figure it out.

Couple of ideas is:
1) switch for controlling the electric side of the water heater (they usually run on both propane and electric)
2) switch for control tank heaters (if so equipped)
3) switch for controlling step/awning lights outside (can be easy to miss)

I was told on my walkthrough that it was for awning lights but that is not true. I believe that I do have tank heaters so that could be it. How would I check?

Welcome from Wisconsin and congrats on your 2014 Cherokee Wolf Pack. Just a heads up, if it is the switch for controlling the electric side of the water heater like ependydad said you could do damage if there isn't water in the WH tank. Why not just call your dealer?

What you want to do- fill the black tank with poops and pees. Then, turn on the tank heaters for a bunch of hours. Get a bucket to catch the stuff at your sewer connection. When it's coming out- stick your hand in to see if it is warm or cold. You'll likely need to repeat it with the switch off to really confirm the temperature sensation.

Ok. So I have loaded pics. Also, I called my rv dealer and they didn't have a satisfactory answer. They suggested the same as you guys.

I did unplug the shore power and the light still came on. Don't know if that makes a difference but I assume that if it was for the tank heaters, they would not come on without shore power.

Also, I did not see a circuit breaker marked for tank heaters. Again, I don't know if they could be on a circuit with something else, but they should be pulling enough power that they would be on their own circuit.

I do have the original build for the trailer and it says it has tank heaters....unless it is fabricated.

Still at a loss and hope someone can help.

my 2010 has a switch in the same position its light is red and it runs the 120 volt hot water heater make sure the hot water heater has water in it before using or it will ruin the element in the heater hope this helps

my 2010 has a switch in that posisition which runs the hot water heater. if it is for the water heater make sure it is full of water or it will ruin the element in the heater. their is also a switch in the water heater access cover that can be set to disable the inside switch. I just purchased my 2010 and have issues with the fresh water vent as it siphons while driving don't know if this been addressed
