Hello From Colorado Newbies

Hello from Conifer, Colorado!

We recently acquired a Rockwood A122S and we love it. We usually camp in the Colorado mountains and in the desert around Moab, UT. We have 2 kids (girl 7, boy 1 1/2 years old) and 2 dogs (Border Collie and Aussie). Along with camping we are into off highway adventures in our four wheel drive Toyota trucks.

Here's a camping picture from last weekend near Fort Collins:

Glad to have found this forum, looks like there are lots of friendly helpful folks here. Happy camping!

Welcome to FRF!! There are very good people around here and very willing to help when needed!

We just returned from our last trip of the year.

It was however to Moab for 6 days!!

We enjoy the same places and use atv's instead of 4X4's! Lots of fun. Enjoy!!

Welcome from Wisconsin and congrats on your Rockwood A122S. I spent a lot of time camping in western Colorado in the 70' and 80's, beautiful place!

Welcome fellow Coloradoan! Congrats on the new camper; very nice. We are discussing a trip to Moab in 2014 and may reach out to you with questions.

We traveled in our A122S for 25 days in September. We started at Fort Bragg, California and ended up at Astoria, Oregon. We loved not being on a schedule. The a-frame worked great except for two leaky windows. We have our unit in for service to correct the leaks that we had temporarily fixed and a couple of other minor problems.

Thank you all for the nice welcome. The color scheme really caught our eye at the dealer. We liked it much better than the white ones.

RamsFan1 I would be happy to answer any questions re Moab.

Barteln I am curious as whether the leaks were in the roof windows or wall windows.

The leaks were in one front window and the back window. At first our dealer told us there was a recall on the windows, then we were told there was no recall and they would re-seal the windows. It is amazing how much water can come through a small crack during a heavy rain. A leak is quite an issue when camping on the Oregon coast.

While we live in Logan, Utah we were raised in Durango. We go there often to visit family and check on our property there. We feel that we have the best of both worlds - Utah and Colorado- to camp in.
