Hello from CT

Hello Everyone! My lovely GF and I just purchased a new Rockwood HW277 Popup. We took it out for its inaugural trip last weekend and had a great time. There's a few minor issues as expected. The only 'feature I'm not a fan of is the front door hanging from the ceiling via wire. We found one of the eyelets had broken off and the way it is attached to the slide makes it impossible for me to repair myself (I tried). The only big issue is that the awning came with a broken leg from Dometic! It's sheared right at the rivet site. Not Forest River's fault.

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to lots of travel and camping! Hoping we don't get hassled about our dogs (rescue pits).

Did you buy the trailer "new" or "new to you"? If "new-new", you shouldn't have to deal with the issues you described. Bring it back to your dealer and have it fixed under warranty.

BTW, welcome from a fellow Connecticidian!

welcome. our first camper was a HW277, we had a great time in it. we loved the outdoor kitchen, was one of the major reasons we went with this floorplan (that and the fridge access when camper was closed up). took that puppy out every chance we got and managed to cover 19,000 miles in 6 years. Hope you have many happy camping trips with yours.

It's Brand New. We bought it up in Buffalo from RVone (they were the only ones that had a new one on the East Coast). We're bringing it back to their Albany store at the end of camping season to have the repairs done. I did call Longview RV in East Windsor and was told I had to pay for warranty work first then go after Forest River for reimbursement because I didn't BUY it from them! HUH???? Gee, when I bring my truck to a different Chevy dealer for warranty work, they don't charge me and tell me to contact GM for reimbursement!!!!! Their loss. I'll never do business with them in the future.

I don't blame you. I know two people who have had issues dealing with them. They're a high-volume dealer, so they have a "take it or leave it" attitude. Not a great business model and "goodwill" probably doesn't appear as an entry on their books.
