Hello From Daytona, Florida

Hi all! After months of trying to get financed and finding one with everything we wanted, my husband and I finally found the perfect TT for our family of 5. We bought a 2017 Cherokee 274DBH from a dealer right down the road in February. (I wish we had started there...we ended up searching all of Florida before giving them a try!) We are currently pulling it with a 2000 Lincoln Navigator with a 5.4L and rear air bags. We have the Blue Ox Sway Bar system installed, otherwise that poor Navigator wouldn't pull it out of the driveway! We have gone on a few somewhat local trips since buying our TT and have a trip to the West Coast of Florida planned in June. Thanks for reading and for all the great information that is in this forum! Happy Camping!

Welcome from Indiana

Congrats on your new Travel Trailer, the wife and I bought our first new Travel Trailer a few months back and just took it out for the first time this past weekend.

30 degrees on Saturday night will make one wish that they lived in Florida.

Thank you! I hope the next time you go out, it is much warmer!

Hello from Ky. We just got our first camper for our family of 5 as well. One of our future destinations this summer will definitely be a Florida beach. Have fun!

West coast has nicer beaches in my opinion; Siesta Key, Anna Maria, Saint Pete. If you end up on east coast, Cocoa is nice. Daytona (where I live) just isn't nice to me, murky water most of the time.

Welcome. We're down south in st lucie. Some beautiful places to camp in Florida. Enjoy.

Our first camper was the 274DBH. Great camper.

Check out the link for Turtle Beach Campgound.

Check this out https://www.scgov.net/TurtleBeachCam...s/default.aspx

This is Turtle Beach Campground we stayed at a condo within walking distance to this. We walked through it and it was awesome.

Turtle Beach Campground is just south of Siesta Key Beach. Probably 3-4 miles south....guessing.

I tried to book it for June a few weeks ago, and they said they had no consecutive days available until October! I was bummed! We are staying at an RV resort just outside of Anna Maria instead.

We lived in Daytona for 3 years and I agree about water clarity. No clear until a ways offshore. West coast and panhandle much nicer. Headed there in May. Great sailing out of Ponce Inlet though!
