Hello From Franklin, IN

My wife and I just bought 2014 Salem Cruise lite 261BHXL. the story behind it was that is was bought last year, and the owner only used it once.(would rather rent a RV) So, instead of buying one new, we bought used and paid half what a new one cost and it really is like new. so we got it home and are in the process of loading it up and we are going to take it out this weekend. All three kids are very excited. my wife and I are nervous. we had a pop-up and sold it to move up into a TT. I am sure it will all go well.
with that said,

we my wife was loading up the refrigerator, she noticed that the light was very hot. so I got my phone out and set it to video and put it in side and shut the door. the light says on. rather then spend a lot of time now I just pulled the light bulb out and will check it next week. I came across this forum and thought I would just introduce myself and see if anyone else has had this problem and what they did to fix it.

Congrats on your Cruise Lite! I have a different model and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have mine. Buying gently used is a great option. Sorry but I can't help with the light bulb issue but hopefully someone else will chime in.

Welcome to the forum from Noblesville. We too moved from a popup to a TT (last fall) and are loving it. Take your time, use "GOAL" (Get Out And Look) approach to backing or pulling into tight spaces, and you'll be fine.

Re: frig light - should be a shutoff switch that is activated by closing the door. Try manually activating the switch to see if it is defective, or if it just isn't being activated by shutting the door. Not sure how many varieties of switches are in Dometic frigs, but all I have seen look fairly easy to diagnose/repair.

Happy camping!

Brian I have tried to adjust it and it still stays on. I have switched it out to LED (it doesnt get hot and uses less power) depending on where we are going sometimes I just take it out. we dont get up for a midnight snack, because we are full of s'mores. I have found Frig isnt deep enough to need a light anyways. I can learn to live without.
