Hello from Iowa

Enjoy looking at this forum. Been camping for 40+ years---since a little kid traveling to RV Shows with parents. Have personally owned 3 TT's and 2 5th wheels and just purchased a new unit and found this forum when looking for an answer to "how to get the crazy satellite system to work"

We camp approx 90 days per year.

Anyway.... howdy and happy trails!

Did your new unit have a Dish network unit sitting somewhere near the living area TV? Was there all kinds of sales brochures all around it? If it's like our 5th wheel, the unit is basically worthless, there is no satellite receiver on your antenna, you have to buy one and you have to sign up to a service. We removed and junked the unit, we watch RV park offered cable when it's available (most of the time it is). And most of all, I did not buy a camper so I could sit around watching TV!

Marty,

I will be checking my schedule since I would love to go. My Aunt/uncle in-laws attended a couple years ago.

Otegoans,
Lol. Yes we have all the equipment from our other camper and transferred over BUT you are 100% correct about sitting around watching TV! Guess this camper will need to go back to dealer for a little fixin..... The blue plugin is for the satellite

Hey Wannabe123 ! Welcome to the forum from Missouri. Enjoy your new RV. I always thought the tv was an important part of camping or traveling by RV. When our Kids were younger it kept the kids happy during the traveling and in the evening when the kids couldn't go away from the camp site it kept them occupied. It also came in handy on really cold or rainy days when you didn't want to go out side. I am also one of those people that don't need much sleep as I watch a movie when I go to bed and usually up before anyone else is. I don't have a satellite in my MH, but rely on dvd's or movies saved on my laptop unless we have WiFi then I use netflix.
Good luck with your new RV and happy camping.
