Hello from Korea!

Hi everyone.

We finally got our trailer from the states and are going to take it out on its maiden voyage this weekend! It took two months and a lot of phone calls and e-mails to get our 2012 Clipper 126 here!

I had forgotten that I had joined this site, but thought I'd touch base with everyone and make some new friends, albeit 9,000 miles away.

We have lived in Korea since 2003, and are originally from So. Cal. Our kids are 10 and 13, and got so big that we had to get a bigger trailer. We also have a 2007 Starcraft 1701.

We own an English school, but I won't become the grammar police!

Anyways, I'd love to hear from other 126 owners about what experiences they've had (I've already had a few) and welcome any and all advice.

Baron, Julie, Lil' Barry, Faith, and our stupid dog, Fang.

I do not have your type of camper, but Love to hear about your adventures in Korea. I'm sure someone will chime in here soon with a similar model as yours.

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. Not seeing a lot of big TT's or FW's.

Wow, your pictures are awesome. Korea is really beautiful, and I love the climate. When I visitied Seoul and Busan we had more snow there than there was back in PA. The mountains always seem so dramatic and inviting.
That trailer is going to serve you well for many years. Congratulations!

Hi, Baron, Julie, Lil' Barry, Faith, and our stupid dog, Fang.

Great pictures.
I was wondering if anyone else have a pop-up like yours?
Seems that they have plenty of tents.
I'm sure you will enjoy the warmer weather.

Camping became very popular after they got rid of school on Saturdays.

There are a surprising amount of trailers in Korea, however they are also very expensive here. (2~3X American price!) Only people who are well off can afford them. There are some TTs and HTTs, but the roads and campgrounds make it difficult to get into them with a bigger trailer. There are a lot of tents because they are affordable. We have six! And 18 sleeping bags, and ... LOL

We went to the Formula 1 race this year, and I saw a LOT of really expensive TTs, but then again, they are the extreme of the economic spectrum here. This TV costs over $300K here! The trailer is ~ $100K

Our trailer is the biggest that can easily get into an average Korean campground, as most campgrounds here have natural tree growth.

There are some "planned" campgrounds, but they are boring! Americans would consider most campgrounds here as "boondocking" with a water supply and dirty bathrooms. But we also can let our dog run around and play. After reading about all the rules in the states, I like camping here a LOT more.

We imported our new trailer ourselves. A pain, but with the Korea/US Free Trade Agreement, we only paid a little more than we would have in America.

We love winter camping! Our record is -13C! It's actually warmer in our big green tent than in the popup! We used to be no electricity, so we have a boiler system for the sleeping area, and a big kerosene heater for the inner area of our tent. When it was -12C outside, it was 22C inside our tent! We now use the tent as a meeting/eating area in winter for all our friends. Our maiden voyage is this weekend, and it's going to be -3C or colder. Yippee!!!

Hi there!

Great pictures! The last one with the snow sure does look it's a bit on the cold side.

I visited Korea a few times when I was stationed in Japan. Never gave any thought to camping. Great Photos.
