Hello from LA! that's Louisiana BTW
DH and I brought home our new toy last evening. Might know, he has a three day golf tournament this weekend so right now our Flagstaff (three slider) V-Light 34.5 is presently a beautiful yard ornament.
We'll take 'er on her maiden voyage next weekend though. We're like two kids on Christmas day.
Gotta give kudos to all you folks. Ya'll have been much help to us already, as we perused the threads this past week, so many questions, while waiting to take delivery.

Welcome aboard. What part of our state do you hail from?
My trailer came from Bayou Outdoors in Bossier City. I have nothing but praise for their sales and service.

ummm if the initials WM mean what I think they do...we're both in the home of Duck Dynasty.
Yeah, we're Bayour Outdoor customers as well. Those folks are fantastic. Their techs (that give the 2 hour "class") are the BEST.
Our salesman even gave me a call this AM to make sure everything is OK. The "tour tech" even gave us his cell phone number in case we have issues.
There's no wonder they're "Route 66" dealers is there?

We can't decide where the maiden voyage will take us....
Poverty point....near black bear golf course...of course.
Caney Lake
D'arbonne Lake
Lake Claiborne
Lake Bistineau
The list seems endless for the short maiden run in this area.

Welcome to FRF!!
i spent part of my life growing up in Monroe and West Monroe, back in the late 50's and early 60's. things were a lot different back then.
the biggest thing i missed, was catching fireflies and crawdads. they don't have either in California.

I always thought LA stood for Lower Alabama. Glad to have you on FRF.

Welcome to the forum. BTW, when we lived in Carlisle, AR, LA meant Lower Arkansas (South of I40)

It is absolutely West Monroe. If you don't have any camping friends, we'd be happy for ya to join us. There are several of us locals that camp a lot at Darbonne State Park (our favorite) as well as Caney (aka Jimmie Davis) and Claiborne. It's a blast when we have 4-8 trailers together.
We are all part of the local geocachers, and try to meet for lunch around 1 on Saturdays at Logans Roadhouse. It's an open invitation to any/all who are interested. Feel free to come meet us and hang out.
Here is our local webpage:

Just a little heads up on Poverty Point. As they are still a relatively new park, they don't have hardly any shaded sites (or didn't two years ago), but the vast majority are totally in the open, thus will be hot in Louisiana summer sunshine. Might be a better place to visit in cooler weather.
Darbonne is very shaded
Jimmie Davis has good shade with only a few in the open. Same with Lake Claiborne.
Another nice park you may not be aware of is Lincoln Parish Park north of Ruston off HWY 33. They have full hookups with sewer. The sites are a little closer together than the state parks, but are fairly level. The sites backed up to the lake are nice and they even have some pull thru sites. They let you reserve a spot in the campground, but not a specific site. It's first come, get's choice of available sites. You might want to scope them out if you are in the area.

Another reason I would pick Darbonne or Lincoln Parish on a maiden voyage, is their proximity to local Wal-marts .......when you discover all the things you wished you had brought. LOL

This sounds like fun! Need to figure out how to PM ya. You'll get a kick outta what I have to tell ya.
I just checked for information on the DArbonne site and it shows 30 amp only. We've two a/cs....it's kinda hot to count on running only one. (we're 50 ampers) Maybe that info is outdated?
Granted, we've been running one a/c in the back yard and it'll put chill bumps on your chill bumps, but our back yard has a canopy of huge oaks....yeah, I know...*gotta* get an RV port put in. Those live oak branches are givin me nightmares already.

REDNECK RIVIERA!
I lived in P'cola for a while.
Actually many people think when I type LA that I'm in Los Angeles.
