Triguy, Thank you for the input and I appreciate the info. Here is a nice opinionated article I found.
The Great American Anti-Towing Conspiracy | The Truth About Cars
After towing the Amerilite, fully loaded, with a full load of H20 (I figured I could "dump" the water if it was too much), I believe the UK and AU tow rating of 7400lb. But, using a "the rule of 80%", I don't want to go above 6000lb fully loaded. I have faith in my little VM Diesel.
I am not here to flame or to start any controversy. I am here for one purpose. Get information on trailers, and to hopefully join the FROG community when my family purchases a trailer. BTW, it will not be my first trailer. When I was much younger and stupider, I owned an old TT, FW, and Slide in that I used at the race tracks. I have owned a 1987 F250 6.9 with a hypermax, and a 1991 F350 with a banks. I have towed race car trailers up to 35' tow behind and 45' FW. Now, with the family, and getting through the recession, I would LOVE to own a nice 3/4 to 1 ton. But with my commutes, up to 150 miles a day round trip, I have to sacrifice.
Lets all enjoy life.
