Hello from Michigan

New member here. We recently traded our high-side Rockwood pop-up (AWESOME pop-up BTW) for a Rockwood bunkhouse, to make more room for our grandkids and all their paraphernalia. We took two of them with us on our maiden voyage to Muskegon, MI a couple weeks ago and had a fantastic time. DH and I are now preparing for our annual 2-week stay at Platte River National Campground next week--hopefully just in time for fall color and the fall steelhead run (not necessarily in that order ).

I'm enjoying wandering around this site. Yesterday I ran across the thread on dump station mishaps and lost an entire hour reading and laughing at the posts there. I'm looking forward to spending more time here, learning from everybody's experience and, hopefully, sharing some of our experiences as well.

We're headed for the U.P. in 4 days for our 2 week fall color extravaganza. Enjoy yourselves. I checked the Michigan DNR site and there is good news for the salmon in the Platt, but nothing about Steelhead.

Here is what they say: Platte River: This year's coho run arrived early and the number of fish is impressive. DNR staff estimate between 10,000 and 15,000 fish at the weir, and it sounds like there are many more in the lower river.

Hope you have fun and if the steelhead are there too, that's even better!!!
