Hello from Michigan!

Hello all, my apologies. I asked a question earlier and didn't find this forum till just now.
Have always rented and finally purchased a 2005 Grand Surveyor 272. Just me and my girl, so the floor plan is perfect. She turned me on to pintrest and all the posts about camper mods had me hooked!
I'm a little nervous as our first trip if about 500 miles one way and boondocking it! Oshkosh if anyone is familiar! TV is a 2011 F-150 w/ tow package. Just getting it ready and realized these new things don't even have a dipstick for the transmission anymore.
Back to the trailer, it has grease buddy bearings that I added grease to and after 50 miles wheel tempature felt fine.. Should that be OK or should I repack them?
I got 2 new batteries, Gen, and solar panel. Hope I don't have any surprises.. Looking forward to all this site has to offer and if anyone is in OSH feel free to drop a line!
Mike

Hi there! Congrats on your new RV too! Lots of good memories are ahead for the family. Sounds like you are off to a good start. My suggestion would be not to sweat the small stuff. There is little that we cannot recover from and at the end of the day it's about being with family.

Please do keep us updated on how things are going.

Well into day 6 of dry camping. Found a loose connection on the water pump, front window also leaks, and I can't seem to keep the battery charged. But other than that very happy with the unit. We have definitely used just about every appliance on the thing. AC/furnace, both refrigerator functions.. Ect. Looking to put a battery disconnect on now.

Welcome from the U.P. of Michigan! Hope the EAA fly in is going well for you. I went by Monday and saw thousands of RVs out in those fields. WOW!! Have fun.
