Hello from Michigan

My wife & I are very new to camping but are excited to start. We just bought a used travel trailer: 2006 Forest River Surveyor sv291 30 ft. It looks to be in great condition. We are to pick it up next Thursday. We are very enthusiastic about camping with it & I'm sure we will use this site for learning, searching & asking questions.

My first question: anything other then the standard questions I should ask the dealer, or look for on the trailer. Known problems with that year and model. Thanks

I'm glad I found this site it will be very useful for our travels.
thanks Rob

Welcome from The State of Texas!! Happy camping and Congrats. You should be able to search for issues in the past that have gone on with that style unit.

Welcome to the forum from another Michigander. Take your time and do a complete inspection. Make sure everything works properly and ask that the brakes, axle bearings and seals be inspected by the dealer if not already done..

Welcome from Wisconsin and congrats on your 2006 Forest River Surveyor SV291. Besides the brakes, axle bearings and seals mentioned above make sure the tires are in good shape too.

Welcome from Ontario. Congratulations on your new purchase, As noted above...take alot of notes when doing the walk through and video tape. Look for evidence of water damage or expansion.

Thanks again to all

Thanks for all the warm welcomes, looks like a great community of people here. Also the advice will be very helpful when we have the walk through with the dealer next Thursday. I would hate to get it off the lot and find big problems. as we plan on taking a big trip in a couple months with it.
Thanks again
Rob
