Hello from Ontario Canada - New Member
Hi everyone, I'm a new member on this forum, living in Ontario Canada.
We've been long-time campers, RV'ers. Like many others, we started with tent camping when we were younger, upgraded to a tent-trailer (2005 Palomino Yearling) for extra comfort, and after a few years we upgraded again to a 2008 Jayco x213 travel trailer because the DW and the girls wanted a bathroom and shower . We loved that trailer and traveled all over Ontario and Quebec with it.
But, as the girls got into their late teens, and we moved into the country with a small bit of land, we found that we weren't going out as often as we should and the trailer was barely used. In 2011 we decided to sell it and focus on all the work we had in our new property.
Last year, my wife and I realized that we missed going to Provincial/National Parks more than we thought we would. We didn't feel that a full sized trailer would be needed (as most often it would just be the two of us, and our Brittany) and decided to go full-circle and back to the tent trailer.
We found an outstanding deal on a private sale 2015 Palomino Basecamp 10 DFG, (pictures included) and haven't looked back.
We've mostly kept to local parks (within 2-3 hour drive), but are planning to do a 2-week trip through Quebec and into the Maritime provinces next year. We can't wait.
Anyhow, sorry for the long introduction. Glad we found this forum, and looking forward to sharing our camping/rv'ing experiences, knowledge and learning from the other experienced folks here.
cheers.
Jax.

Welcome "Jax Wylde"
Like you, we have been doing a lot of local camping as well.
However, we are contemplating an over due trip across Canada.
Last time we drove across Canada was in 1970 in an old VW camper van.
Top speed 50 mph 'with a tail wind'.
When your feet get itchy enough venture out West... we'll keep a light on for you.
Enjoy your Palomino ...(pictures did not come through.)
Islander

Welcome from Ottawa! Our daughter is 12 and still comes all the time, but I can see the day coming when that changes. We may well downsize, though probably not as much as you did.

Thanks Islander. Going 'out West' is definitely on our list. However, it won't be with a tent-camper, LOL. By then, we'll be in something a little bigger.
Re: Pictures not coming through, I guess that's a newbie mistake. I thought I followed the correct process (found file, used correct (or so I thought) field, etc.) and submitted. Maybe the file I selected was too large, or I missed a key step. I'll go through the FAQ's a little more carefully.
Cheers.
J.

Thanks for the Welcome, Restcure. Our daugthers (22, and 17) still come with us, periodically as they still enjoy camping with Mom and Dad :-). We did downsize a lot, but considering we went +5 years with no camper, we'll just consider this as restarting our RV lifestyle. I'm already looking at the R-Pods/Winnie-Drops/Minnie-Winnie style RV's as next step (we're trying to keep it light and small to ensure our campsite options as large as possible). We've also been looking at small C Class/B+ RV's, but their still a few years away.
cheers,

Thanks brother. I see you're in Innisfil, Ontario. We're ~45 min due west of you (Orangeville/Caledon border). We're off camping (Rv'ing) this weekend, although the weather doesn't seem to want to cooperate. Oh well, I guess that's what we have to deal with in these parts of the world. Maybe the weather gods will intervene and prove the forecasters wrong, once again.
cheers,
J.

I know your area well, very nice. We are headed out this afternoon for the weekend camp out as well. If we both think 'Sunshine' maybe will stay dry!
Safe travels and have fun.

We were campering (sorta) in your neighbourhood (ish) last weekend - we brought our trailer to my cousin's farm for a party. It is definitely a nice area! We have camped at Elora Gorge before and would like to try Rockwood. And we'll be at Pinery for 23 days this summer.
