Hello from Ottawa, Ontario

Greetings from Canada's capital and thanks for having us!

We are in the process of upgrading to a 2012 Rockwood 2701SS from our 2008 Starcraft ST 2700BH, which was purchased new and has been dragged through most of Canada (and a good part of the USA).

DW has always liked Rockwoods and has been talking about a slide lately; hence the upgrade. And there is TONS more storage... and a bed accessible from both sides... and a bigger dinette... and more windows... and bigger waste tanks...

Need I go on?

We take delivery the day before our first trip of the season, but in the meantime we have the keys and access to move all of our stuff over. The biggest hiccup now is the hitch - we tow with a ProPride 3P and have to pick the right time and place to make the swap. The Rockwood comes with a general WD hitch and friction sway controller; those are offered for sale with the Starcraft.

Well, we're pretty excited and definitely looking forward to making some new memories in our new-to-us trailer. Looking forward to hanging out here and swapping stories!

We'll create a page for the new addition on our website soon.

Our first trailer was a pop up purchased new from Travel Mor. We had it serviced a couple of times and the service was second to none.

I just noticed that, like us, you tow with a ProPride hitch! How long have you had it?

Thanks! We'll be in your neighbourhood in July (Medicine Hat) though it's not a camping trip. Been there, done that, need three months to do it right!

Hi JD. Small world, I just checked out your website and hey, I was stuck in an elevator in Vanier with you! (Its Kevin). Congrats on the new trailer, it looks like a nice one. My wife and I bought a Viking 17FQ in the fall and are looking forward to taking it out this coming weekend for our maiden voyage. After driving across Canada last year and sleeping in tents, I realized my hips are starting to get too old for sleeping on the ground.

Cheers!

Hey hey! Congrats on the purchase and the entrance into a whole new world of camping. Or is it campering?

Dawn and I came to the same decision earlier than you. We spent our last night in a tent in, I think, 2004... and we bought our first trailer, a Fleetwood pop pp, in 2006. Since then there's been a LOT of camping. Getting off the ground makes a huge difference.

So... where'd you buy yours, and what are you towing it with?

Have the ProPride since day one, 1400 lbs bars......never had a white knuckle drive in 5 years of use.....as far as I'm concerned the best on the market....

We've been towing with ours since 2009. It replaces an Equal-I-Zer we used for a couple of months. No comparison. There's nothing like surprise-free towing!

Welcome from a little east of Toronto! Nice website BTW. You've obviously done a ton of trips since buying the Starcraft. I hope you thoroughly enjoy your new Rockwood.

Thanks!

Trips in the Starcraft, let's see... By my calculations, 80 trips... 245 nights... just a little over 34,000 km.

Thanks for the welcomes, folks!
